When flashes onto my TV, I tell my girlfriend that I'm heading down to the den to watch it alone. I tell her I'm doing this because when I was a child growing up in 1920s Harlem, my father and I would watch re-runs of Married With Children and we bonded over the comic confusion of one Al Bundy.

Therefore I head down to the den to Skype with my Dad and watch Modern Family together because lets face it is a terrible actor so can only really play comic confusion. It's a nice way of recapturing my childhood and I'm glad it's been preserved in this way. Just me and my Pop.

This is not what happens in the den.

My Father is not involved and I did not grow up in 1920s Harlem.
