You know that old line about reading Playboy for the articles? Scarlett Johansson recently gave an interview with the nudie dinosaur which is worth reading, talking very gamely about a fairly contentious topic: monogamy.

Scarlett Johansson seems rather suspicious about monogamy, mostly because it seems like quite a lot of stress and work. She explained:

"You have to choose a path. I think the idea of marriage is very romantic; it’s a beautiful idea, and the practice of it can be a very beautiful thing. I don’t think it’s natural to be a monogamous person. I might be skewered for that, but I think it’s work. It’s a lot of work."

Scarlett Johansson's next movie is The Ghost in the Shell, released March 31, 2017.

She's not wrong for saying she could get ''skewered for that'' — despite an increasing number of people exploring different sexual ethics and practices, monogamy is still the prevalent approach to relationships (just check out any Facebook thread on cheating)...

ScarJo has recently split from ex-husband Romain Dauriac, and though the couple have remained admirably civil to each other, the pitfalls of marriage as an institution is clearly on Johansson's mind:

"The fact that it is such work for so many people—for everyone — the fact of that proves that it is not a natural thing.

Being married is different than not being married, and anybody who tells you that it’s the same is lying. It changes things. I have friends who were together for 10 years and then decided to get married, and I’ll ask them on their wedding day or right after if it’s different, and it always is. It is."

Do you think that monogamy works?
