Hot off the heels of playing The Major in Ghost in the Shell, Scarlett Johansson has revealed that she's got more than just Hollywood domination in her sights — she'd also like to run for President of the United States.

In a surprising reveal to Good Morning America host Michael Strahan, ScarJo, who's become much more politically vocal in recent years, put the record straight and said that in a few years time, running for office is something she'd certainly consider.

In the lead up to her interview on Good Morning America to promote Ghost in the Shell, ScarJo has been making her political persuasions public. Having made an empowering speech on the importance of Planned Parenthood as part of the Women's March on Washington, Scarlett addressed Trump directly by stating:

"President Trump, I did not vote for you. That said … I want to be able to support you, but first I ask that you support me.”

Scarlett then followed this up by hosting for the fifth time last month where she mocked Trump's daughter Ivanka by playing her in a sketch entitled 'Complicit' where the voiceover read:

"A feminist. An advocate. A champion for women. Like, how? She’s loyal. Devoted. But probably should have bounced after that whole Access Hollywood bus thing."

'I've Always Been Interested In Local Politics'

In light of her recent political engagement, Good Morning America host Michael Strahan asked ScarJo outright whether she'd ever consider running for office herself, to which Scarlett replied:

“I’ve always been interested in local politics. Right now I think with my young daughter, and also as my career is going right now, it’s not the right time."

But once her current responsibilities to her daughter and her career subside...

"But eventually, maybe if my daughter was older and I could totally focus myself on something like that, I think it could be interesting.”

Roll on ScarJo 2020!
