Where do you go after Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus and Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus? Well, the answer is obvious, isn't it? Sharknado! That's right, it's a film about a load of sharks who are thrown out of the sea and onto land by a tornado.

The film, produced by low budget kings The Asylum, recently debuted on the Syfy Channel and took social media by storm. Naturally, talk soon turned to developing a Sharknado sequel. Director Anthony C. Ferrante told The Hollywood Reporter:

We always joked about sequels and what would it take to top this one, but nothing ever official. This being so successful, I can't imagine they wouldn't do another one and if we could find a way to top ourselves, I'd love to come back.

In another interview with The Mercury News he added:

I mean, what do you do after Sharknado? You've got to up the ante. I don't want to compare this to Star Wars, but if this is Star Wars, then you've got to make Empire Strikes Back.

I mean where do you go after Sharknado? Sharkcano? Shark-quake? Sharkageddon? Actually, that last one has a nice ring to it.

Despite being splatted all over Twitter, Sharkado only did relatively well in the ratings, hauling in just over 1.4 million viewers. Still, that's not too bad for a low budget film about sharks in a tornado.

Did you miss the debut of Sharknado? Well, you're in luck. The fish-filled-natural disaster will strike again on July 18 at 7PM on Syfy.

What do you think? Are these films just a good bit of harmless fun, or are they really as bad as they seem (and look)? Let us know your opinion below.
