Parkland looks set to render an intense, deftly weaved version of events in the aftermath of the John F. Kennedy assassination. Less is definitely more in this crisp new poster, as the stars and stripes are respectfully lowered against a black background. I know you can't judge a film by its poster, but I definitely feel that this triumph of graphic design bodes well for Parkland.

The project, described by director as 'the ground truth from the ground level,' will hopefully receive a warmer critical reception than the similar ensemble cast Kennedy biopic, Bobby. However, acclaim seems likely for Parkland, with a strong cast boasting , , and amongst others. Landesman added:

What surprised me was the power and poignancy of those who survived that day and the three that followed -- the heroism, the instincts and the pathos of those swept up in this tsunami. This is an event that happened to individuals.

Here are some stills of 'those swept up in [the] tsunami.'

Parkland will have its first showing at the Toronto International Film Festival, before going on to wider release on September 20, 2013.
