Though his career is on the rise, isn't quite a household name yet. Well, more to the point, he is a household name...it's just that the name by which he's most known is Jon Snow. The young Game of Thrones star is currently set to headline director 's epic action drama Pompeii. Snow, er I mean Harington plays Milo, a former slave turned gladiator. Today, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, the first image of Harington as Milo has landed online. Apparently, the trek behind The Wall is an excellent cardio workout.
Here's what he had to say about the pic...
“This is the first scene you see me in. It’s set in London, in fact, and it’s a scene where my character is a gladiator fighting in an arena. That’s his gladiator look. It’s a great little fight against three masked gladiators and sets up who he is and where he’s going. You see me display my skills quite early on.”
Harington is a fantastic actor, but my concern with this project is the man sitting behind the camera. Every once in a while, Paul W.S. Anderson manages something decent, or at least wildly entertaining (Event Horizon, Death Race), but he also has overseen some true stinkers under his belt (Three Musketeers, Alien vs. Predator, and three of the Resident Evil films). My hope is that the cast he's assembled for Pompeii, including Harrington, , , , and , will help ensure some modicum of quality.
What do you guys think?
