If you're looking for a film that can wow you with sweet #martialarts action and make you laugh at the same time, look no further than Soho Jimbo, which was released online today. It's a hugely entertaining action-comedy short film, directed by the talented Chris Chung.
The film, inspired by classic #Kurosawa, tells the story of Shun, who has been mistaken for world-renowned hitman Soho Jimbo and must fight to survive. Check out the film right here:
The action is shot with a lot of style and as you can see in the behind-the-scenes photos below, there were a few tricky shots to capture.
When asked about directing the action scenes, director Chris Chung said this:
"With the action you will see I like to let the action flow, build momentum and show the geography of the scene, so hopefully the audience feels just as involved as the characters, because they know where they are between the kicks and punches! For me, the way a character fights and reacts is also an attribute to the performance, a huge inspiration for the action was both 'Kung Fu Panda' and Jackie Chan’s life’s work."
Soho Jimbo may well be adapted into a full feature film. Is that something that you guys would like to see? Let me know in the comments.
