Speaking at a Teen Choice Awards panel, Sons of Anarchy executive producer revealed what's on his mind for the show's ending. He claimed he already had a "loose idea" of how the show will end come the seventh and final season scheduled to air in 2014. He even let his tongue slip regarding the all-time final scene.
Said the showrunner of the popular FX series:
What I’ve learned over time is that the looser I hold onto those ideas, the better the seasons are. I have an idea of what the final shot is, and somehow it’s Otto getting out of jail. Again, I hold onto that loosely.
Sutter previously mentioned that the seventh season will end "in a pool of blood," and that there may be more than the canon thirteen episodes per season to narrate the final stages of the show.
He also addressed the rumored graphic novels produced by Boom! Studios, confirming that they will actually be made, and perhaps tie in with a much-awaited prequel limited series that tells the story prior to SAMCRO's formation. Sutter has also made clear (back in June) that he doesn't want to make the prequel in a movie format:
I want to let the property rest for a year or so after Sons is over before jumping in. I don’t know if it will be a series or a limited series of say ten to thirteen episodes. I don’t want to do it as a movie – tonally, I don’t see it as a movie.
Sons of Anarchy's sixth and penultimate season will premiere on FX on September 10th, 2013 at 10 PM (EST).
