Sons of Anarchy has topped itself yet again with its season 6 finale, which turned out to be its most watched and highest rated to date, with a total of 5.2 million viewers (6.4 including the encore).

As I explained before, the most important thing to television executives and producers is ratings within the 18-49 age bracket, and Sons of Anarchy came in third place, after The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad. Sons of Anarchy is now the highest rated and most watched program in FX's history, due to the season 6 premiere, which broke all previous records with 5.87 million viewers. All in all, the show has averaged 7.3 million viewers this season.

The creator of the series, , is aiming for a seventh and final season for the show. There are reportedly whispers and plans about a Sons of Anarchy prequel, which we can all guess would center on the establishment of SAMCRO (the motor cycle club) by Jax Teller's father, John Teller, and take place during the 60's. To me this sounds even cooler than the original, but we will have to see.

What did you think of the Sons of Anarchy season finale? AND, would you be interested in a prequel?
