Have you ever woken up in the morning and thought to yourself, "I really like vampires and I really like aliens. Wouldn't it be groovy if somebody made a vampire-alien TV show?"

Well wonder no more, because the future is happening now. Deadline is reporting that Ringleader Studios has picked up the rights to ’s 1976 novel The Space Vampires and are looking to adapt it for the small screen.

The novel follows the exploits of a group of astronauts who discover humanoid aliens on a derelict spaceship. However, there's more to these space vamps than meets the eye and when they return to Earth, they infect the population with a life-sucking plague.

The novel was first adapted for the big screen back in 1985 under the name Lifeforce and it will be called that once again for the TV adaptation. Unfortunately the movie turned out to be a bit terrible but perhaps the switch to TV will give us something better.

Who would you like to see cast in Lifeforce?
