(WARNING: The following contains a mild, entirely predictable and as-yet officially unconfirmed plot SPOILER for Spider-Man: Homecoming. Proceed with whatever level of caution your Spidey-Sense suggests to you is wise.)
Now, for all that movie studios spend millions of dollars and countless hours of effort on both security and PR protection, it's thus far proved all-but-impossible to actually stop spoilers, plot teases and general cinematic leakage. Not least because, for all the will in the world, toy makers and merchandisers need to actually make the stuff they're planning to sell, meaning that, for instance, a shiny new superhero suit is liable to find its way onto the interweb more-or-less the moment a toy based on it is first spotted.
Which is of course precisely why we now know that:
It seems That 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Will Feature A New Iron Man Suit
Yup, that's right. It seems that #MarvelStudios' #SpiderManHomecoming will not only feature a shiny new Spider-suit, but a brand spanking new #IronMan armor, also. That, at least, is the most obvious takeaway from Hasbro's latest action figure reveal — a two-pack featuring Spidey and Iron Man, with the latter wearing a largely black-tinted suit.
Which, assuming we see it in the final movie (and that it's not just a merchandising ploy), would seem to suggest two things. One, that #TonyStark still feels bad about what happened to War Machine back in Captain America: Civil War, and decided to take on some of his responsibility, and two, that the folks at Marvel Studios liked the look of the Ultimate universe's Iron Man's first suit:
And either way, that's actually pretty darned cool. Now we just have to hope that it turns up in the movie.
What do you think, though? Will we actually see Iron Man's black and red suit in Spider-Man: Homecoming, or is it just a toy-only design? Let us know below!
