Pfew - or urgh! depending on your stance towards the whole "famous directors raising money on Kickstarter" controversy. With just four days left until the deadline, managed to raise his $1.25 million Kickstarter goal. The saucy, non-vampiric love story revolving around the addiction to blood will probably become the third-biggest Kickstarter movie project to date, relatively far behind Veronica Mars ($5.7M) and ’s Wish I Was Here ($3.1M).
So Da Sweet Blood of Jesus will in fact happen. I had my doubts for a second there, as the donations were trickling in rather slowly. I for one am quite happy that Lee managed to hit his target.
But what do you think about the whole thing? Are famous and presumably prosperous directors like and abusing Kickstarter or are they just using it correctly?
