Those cool guys over at Empire have gone all galactic, with the latest issue of the mag taking an in-depth look at the upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness. As well as showcasing some sweet character covers and some stills from the movie, the article also contains a slightly updated synopsis for the movie, giving us a bit more in the way of plot. It's not a huge amount of unknown stuff, but if you want your Star Trek experience to remain 100% spoiler free, then stop reading now.
With Earth under terrorist attack from Benedict Cumberbatch’s ex-Starfleet employee John Harrison, Kirk is this time forced into a rash decision that breaks a critical Starfleet command, puts his crew in danger & costs him his captain’s chair. Now out of uniform and dressed down in space civvies of black leather jackets and boots, our three heroes have separated from the Enterprise and headed off on a mission to try and rectify his mistake… (via Bleeding Cool)
Considering that director normally keeps his plot spoiler cards very close to his chest, this is something of a revelation. We now know that Harrison was a former Starfleet employee, who breaks all kinds of bad, before Kirk does something pretty naughty and gets himself booted off the Enterprise. What Starfleet command does Kirk break? Could it be the Prime Directive, Starfleet's General Order #1? What must Kirk then do to get back into the captain's chair?
Have you guys got any ideas on what's about to go down? I would very much like to hear your opinion on this, so drop a comment below.
