There is no doubt that the Star Wars franchise has had a significant impact on pop culture. From Family Guy spoofs to countless cosplays inspired by Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it can't be denied that these films have influenced people in countless ways, whether in their writing, 'plays or anime illustrations. That just so happens to be the topic of this article, as artist @nohofrog has graced the internet with an abundance of Star Wars artworks that reimagine the franchise as an anime.

A notable crossover between old and new has to be the meeting between a tauntaun and BB8. While these Hoth-dwelling creatures didn't feature in , this tauntaun can be seen as a good friend to the astromech droid above.

There are many theories out there suggesting that Rey may be Obi-Wan's granddaughter. However, this doesn't explain Kenobi's presence in this fan art piece, Nevertheless, it's an interesting time-traveling twist that an anime series could explore.

The first movies hinted at the romantic attraction between Luke and Leia, which made many fans give a little bit of a side-eye to this brother/sister relationship. Consequently, Rey and Finn's main focus is also to defeat the dark side of the force.

Almost every android that's been paired with the light side is only there for comic relief, and this also happens to be the case with 's K-2SO (Kay-Tuesso). The droid was found by Captain Cassian Andor and reprogrammed to serve the Alliance. However, Jyn does not seem convinced of K-2SO's intentions.

Playing with time travel once again, BB8 meets K-2SO. Perhaps BB8 is recounting his adventures with Rey and Finn:

Thanks to the force, Uncle Luke finds out that his adoring nephew Ben (now Kylo) will turn to the dark side.

What Happened, Kylo?

The relationship between Han and Ben couldn't be more beautiful than illustrated in this fan artwork. It makes you wonder how strong the dark side is, seeing as it can break the love between father and son.

Bad Ass Rey

Believe it or not, Rey's weapon has received a lot of speculation, and many theorize that the staff actually belongs to Darth Plagueis. Whatever the case may be, Rey carries the staff very well in this illustration.

Making her first appearance in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, we see the young Padawan Ahsoka communicating with the Jedi Masters.

While the battle between good and evil is as old as time itself, the Star Wars franchise began with a little youngling from Tatooine. Anakin's path would have been much different if Bryan Mills (Taken) were the young Padawan's Master.

With the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, what other fan art pieces have you seen grace the internet?

Poll

Are these fan art pieces the basis for a Star Wars anime series?
