The two-year-long wait for the much anticipated Episode VIII of the Star Wars franchise, The Last Jedi, is almost nearing its end. For Star Wars fans who have been eagerly waiting for #TheLastJedi to hit theaters, December 15th might still seem ways off. But don't you worry, because Lucasfilm and Disney have got you covered with a brand new teaser trailer.
Check out the newest teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi down below:
Well, if you weren't feeling the Force before, you're definitely feeling it right now.
Although the teaser is only 45 seconds long, it gives us quite a few scenes that we haven't seen in previous trailers. The most notable one of them is the very first scene from the teaser. It's been 34 years since we last saw Luke aboard the Millennium Falcon in Return of the Jedi, and he's back on it once again. Another important scene from the teaser gives a hint that Rey might go up against Luke at some point during the movie. This particular scene reminds us of one particular confrontational scene from Revenge of the Sith between Anakin and Obi-Wan.
The Last Jedi, written and directed Rian Johnson, will bring back the new Star Wars trio of Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac, who were first introduced in the previous installment, #TheForceAwakens. They'll be reprising their respective roles of Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron. As for the original Star Wars trio, it'll be an emotional rollercoaster. On one hand, the fans will definitely be happy to see Mark Hamill back in his full Luke Skywalker glory. On the other hand, it'll tough to see Chewbacca without Harrison Ford's Han Solo by his side. Of course, the hardest pill to swallow will be the realization that this will be the last time that we get to see the wonderful Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15th, 2017.
