Last month, week four of Summer of Steven gave us chills when Pink Diamond was revealed to the fandom. What made it eerier is it was also revealed in the same episode that Rose Quartz shattered Pink Diamond. This changes our perspective on Rose Quartz in a whole new way: Rose Quartz isn't this perfect gem who did everything right. She had been hiding a violent rebel behind her motherly gem facade. But enough of Rose Quartz, let's talk about Pink Diamond.
Pink Diamond has been a famous character among the SU theories, notably the "Rose is Pink Diamond" theory (but it's been debunked lately). With the help of these SU theories, Pink Diamond has gained fame from the fandom, having a lot of fans speculating who she really was. Can we answer the question of who Pink Diamond really was?
After Pink Diamond's reveal in Back to the Moon, fans were freaking out (in a good way). The reveal led to a lot of theories reblogged on Tumblr, one of which was convincing. The link to the post will be provided at the bottom.
The theory starts with a blogger named @randomfandomrambles, who said that she had a stupid thought in mind (she really said that, I'm not being mean). She noticed that the three diamonds — White, Yellow and Blue diamond — were all in a floating stance, while Pink Diamond seemed to look like she was rising from the ground. To this blogger, it looked like a mural of a newly emerged diamond.
She proceeded to stew on this thought and then it was long enough to make her realize that Earth was truly Pink Diamond's.
Stewing on the thought, I wondered where she was and what she was doing as her "sisters" gained control of so many planets. Then the thought hit me. What if Earth was truly hers? Diamonds are quite large and are supposed to have a lot of power. A planet that had enough life to bring a diamond to life might truly be rare. A planet that was lush with life to the extreme and have vast resources would be need.
She also mentioned that the size and power of a diamond could probably create an impressive emergence hole on the planet. This is where it all starts to make sense.
Although we have four red dots out in the ocean, it would probably make sense that it's the red dot located in Russia. This could've been one of the main reasons Rose rebelled — a whole country (one of the biggest countries on Earth) inhabited by millions of people fade to death as a new diamond is made.
One of the Gem structures that we know is embraced by water is the Sea Spire, though it would make more sense if something similar to a Kindergarten was built in Russia rather than the Sea Spire because Kindergartens are described to disrupt life on Earth, thus eliminating a continent-like country.
Not yet convinced? During the post's fame, another blogger, @questbedhead, reblogged it together with some added evidence. So, randomfandomrambles theorized that Pink Diamond came from Earth and indirectly mentioned that she was from Russia. Well, questbedhead added:
Mir mine (occasionally known as the Naval of the Earth), the second largest excavated hole in the world, which produced 10,000,000 carats of diamonds per year in it’s heyday. This thing is so huge the airflow can suck in helicopters. And where is it located?
This theory took other bloggers away because it's just so accurate! Pink Diamond's gemstone location relates to the place she possibly came out of (redirected Naval to navel/ belly button). Well done, Tumblr. Well. Done.

Do you believe in this theory?
