*Mild Spoilers For Stranger Things Season 2 Ahead. Proceed As Your Friendly Neighborhood Demogorgon Sees Fit*
We might have eight months left to wait until Season 2 of Stranger Things lands this Halloween, but that hasn't stopped #Netflix from releasing a bunch of production pics to keep us on tenterhooks until then. Here we have our first proper look at Nancy Wheeler, Jonathan and Joyce Byers, and a number of shots that hint at how this season's monster will rear its terrifying head. Enjoy!
1. If There's Something Strange In Your Neighborhood
#StrangerThings Season 2 launches over Halloween in the fall of 1984. It makes sense then that, true to the show's nostalgic vibe, the kids would dress up as characters from that year's iconic Ghostbusters. But could this be more than a costume? Perhaps their choice of attire hints at how the gang will tackle this year's big bad beast.
2. Who You Gonna Call?
Standing alone in a sea of students, one would assume that this picture depicts Will's (Noah Schnapp) first day back at school, and foreshadows his inability to interact with his classmates following the previous summer's ordeal. As David Harbour (Chief Hopper) revealed in a recent interview that many of the town's inhabitants have no idea about the Upside Down, thus isolating Will even more from his peers.

3. If There's Something Weird
As the Super Bowl trailer hinted — we posted up top for those who haven't seen it yet — it would seem that this season will see Will greatly affected by his experience in the Upside Down. Does he have telekinetic powers now too, like Eleven? Is he able too see into the future? It would seem his mother, Joyce (Winona Ryder), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Max (Sadie Sink) are witnessing an "episode" in this picture, trying to work out what Will is seeing as he angles his face toward the sky. Let's hope it's not that terrifying new monster!
4. And It Don't Look Good
Whatever Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton) and Nancy (Natalia Dyer) are gawping at through the car's rear window, it doesn't look good. And, by peeking through the windscreen you can make out a small figure standing before them; my guess is that this figure is Will and one of his more terrifying visions just came to life.
5. Who You Gonna Call?
Chief Hopper's on the hunt for something, but what? Given that he was seen leaving Eggos in the woods at the end of Season 1, and the most recent trailer shows him digging for (or burying) a mystery object, there are a couple of possibilities. Could it be Eleven he's looking for? Or could he be on some secret governmental mission?
Now we come full circle, back to the boys in their Ghostbusters garb. And there certainly is something strange going down in their neighborhood — but how they're going to tackle it remains to be seen.
Talking to Entertainment Weekly, the Duffer brothers (the duo responsible for creating #StrangerThings) explained that Season 2 will follow a similar thread to its predecessor, meaning two things: 1. We're going to get another season that feels like an extended movie. 2. It's gonna continue being awesome, and we're totally OK with that:
“Everything changes as we move forward so we’ll see. I want it to have a really finite ending. I don’t want it to be one of those shows that runs out of gas and they lose it because they’re losing interest. You wanna end when you’re on top.
"Hopefully you’ll come to the end of season 2 and feel fully satisfied and want more but you’ll feel like it has come to a conclusion. But also we’ve laid the ground work for further seasons.”
