We never thought that we'd live to see the day, but every time that you discuss Suicide Squad and its terrible score on Rotten Tomatoes or Harley Quinn's love of hot pants, you must now refer to David Ayer's hit film as the 'Academy Award-winning Suicide Squad.'
While the internet was quick to let its feelings be known on the subject, there's a strong argument that Suicide Squad rightly deserved to win the Oscar for Best Makeup & Hairstyling this year. Don't believe us? Yet another glimpse of what could have been surfaced today in the form of a new picture that reveals #HarleyQuinn posing ceremoniously in a beautiful wedding dress.
Although no full-length clip has surfaced of Harley's special day, it seems as though this particular look was taken from one of the many deleted scenes that fell on the cutting room floor. While it's nice that the China Times gave us a fresh reminder of how magnificent #MargotRobbie looked with Harley Quinn's makeup on, the question remains:
Was Harley Quinn Really Supposed To Marry The Joker In Suicide Squad'?
Sure, #TheJoker and Harley Quinn ruled Gotham's underworld together as the Clown Prince and Princess of Crime, but were they ever supposed to actually tie the knot?
While there's no mistaking that outfit for anything other than a wedding dress, it's entirely possible that Harley could have just been playing dress-up. There's also a distinct possibility that this look could be taken from either a flashback or a fantasy created by the Enchantress and her hallucinations.
After all, Harley always idealised her puddin' and those dream-like flashes of an alternative life showed her settled down with The Joker. There's a strong chance then that Quinn imagined a wedding sequence too, one that was ultimately cut from the final film.

Will we ever see Harley Quinn dust off this old wedding dress in a future film? While The Joker's future in the DCEU remains uncertain, Margot Robbie's Clown Princess sure did like to flirt with Deadshot, and then there's her comic book relationship with Poison Ivy to consider. Could wedding bells ring in #GothamCitySirens? Harley Ivy sort of has a ring to it...
