Not much is known about 's upcoming Man of Steel as he and (who co-wrote the script), are famously tight-lipped when it comes to leaking info about upcoming movies. On one hand, I can't help but think they and DC are shooting themselves in the foot a bit, with Marvel utilizing the internet hype machine to generate buzz about their films, which then go on to annihilate the box office. On the other hand, it obviously worked just fine for Nolan with the Dark Knight franchise, so who knows?

In any case, a new picture has been released of Superman () and Lois Lane () which shows them, well...just standing there against a gray backdrop. But they're standing real serious and everything.

And that's it. The cover was shot for Total Film, and I'm sure the site is sitting on more by way of pictures and interview, but for now, that's all we're getting.

Maybe it's just me, as I've admittedly never been a huge Superman fan (sorry, Big Blue, you're just a little too vanilla for me), but I feel like there's not nearly as much excitement for Man of Steel as there is for Marvel's Phase 2 or X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Maybe it's time for Snyder & Co. to step up their marketing game? Granted, we'll be seeing many more pictures of as Jor-El and 's Zod, set pieces and interviews as the release date draws closer, but so far, I haven't been insanely wowed with the stuff they've been leaking.

Do you agree? Disagree (No need to be rude if you don't, though)? Let me know in the comments.
