Tyler Hoechlin's first appearance as on The CW's received rave reviews from critics and fans alike, leading to speculation that the Man of Steel would to get his own CW series. While that never came to fruition, we have all been hoping that the Clark would once again grace National City with presence and it looks like we got our wish.

According to E! Online, Hoechlin will be reprising his super-heroic role in the Season 2 finale of Supergirl. There are no details as of yet about what leads to the Man of Steel's reappearance on the show, but Supergirl has multiple arcs running at the moment, all of which could benefit from an appearance from Superman.

With the emergence of the king and queen of Daxam, Lillian Luthor taking her villainous CADMUS plans to the next level, and President Olivia Marsdin revealing her true alien form, National City needs heroes more than ever.

The latest episode saw the Queen of Daxam, Rhea, promising to reign down terror on Earth in a bid to take back her son Mon-El. Perhaps Kara will come to the realization that she needs as much help as she can get, calling in her famous cousin.

The Supergirl and Superman team-up in the Season 2 premiere was like watching a comic book come to life — and, as it was part of the show's move from CBS to The CW, the team-up proved rather popular with The CW's audience. Hoechlin's Superman received acclaim from viewers, and executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has previously said that he hoped to bring Hoechlin back at some point in the future:

"We just selfishly hope we get to do it again because it really added to the show in a way."

With many alien threats on the horizon as we approach the Season 2 finale, Clark Kent may once again lose the glasses and don the Superman outfit to show the citizens of Earth than two Kryptonians are better than one!

Supergirl returns to The CW with new episodes April 24th.
