(WARNING: Spoilers ahead for The Flash television series)

What a great way to start off a season! The Flash is an all-time favorite superhero and it's about time they started to delve into altering timelines again. In doing so, Barry has messed up big time. We pick up three months after the events of the Season 2 finale where Barry decides to go back in time to save his mother from immanent death. Now, we find his world changed forever. Take a look at this episode's most craziest moments!

3. Kid Flash's Near-Death Experience

Wally West is a character that even a lot of non-comic fans have heard of. For comic readers, we have been dying to find out when he gets his powers. In this episode, we got our wish. Watching him go toe-to-toe with Rival Flash was rather entertaining to watch. Even though he didn't do quite as expected, it was still awesome to finally see Kid Flash in action.

2. Barry Swallowing His Pride

Even though Barry changed the timeline by saving his mother, he still has his own memories and powers (for now). It took a lot in him to ask Thawne for help. Not only did he ask for Thawne's help, Barry asked him to kill his mom. Why? Because it's the superhero thing to do. It was Nora's fate to die; it's what made Barry the Flash in the first place. What a chilling twist! The bad guy gets to become the hero.

1. Barry Changed The Timeline, Again!

What's wrong with you, Barry? You can only change a timeline so many times. When you go back in time to change a world that you created by going in the past to change an event it will most definitely have consequences. When Barry thought he had it made, once again he realizes that he messed up big time. He realizes that Joe and Iris aren't on speaking terms and finds out Henry is dead. What's going on, Barry?!

Overall Thoughts On The Episode

Other than a couple minor let downs, this was a great way to start a premiere. There was some timeline jumping, the story was great, the cast delivered some amazing performances, and watching billionaire Cisco was pretty entertaining. This episode left us with some questions:

  • Does the new timeline change Arrow?
  • Will we see Wally get his speed again?
  • What's going on with Iris and Joe?

Again, great episode, and I'm looking forward to next week.

Episode Rating: 8/10
