To avoid fainting, keep repeating 'It's only a movie...It's only a movie...'

A new 3D Australian horror is in the works from ScreenLaunch, titled Safe Water. Director Nathan Christoffel (Eraser Children) will helm the project, which has no cast attached at present. The plot sounds kind of like a Point Horror novel: Shelly, an ex-champion surfer whose homecoming to her sleepy native town turns into a nerve-shredding fight for survival. Well, it's a horror movie, right? You didn't think she was gonna go back home and pick out some nice drapes in IKEA. Here's the poster for the movie.

I'm hoping that Safe Water will be a mash-up of Blue Crush and I Know What You Did Last Summer...Uh, take a look at this photo and guess what might draw audiences to this movie.

My academic interest in stunning surfer girls aside, Safe Water looks a pretty safe bet for a decent little horror movie. I'm quite a fan of Australian horror, and am always up for a horror movie that strays outside of the Hollywood arena. Will you be checking out Safe Water?
