Coincidentally scheduled for release almost exactly a month before the Anchorman: The Legend Continues premiere, the memoir of famed San Diego reporter Ron Burgundy promises to sweep bookstores all over the country.
The book, presented as a tie-in between Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and this upcoming sequel, is expected to hit shelves on November 19th. The titular anchorman, portrayed by on screen, gave out a press release in which he revealed that the book would contain never-before-told stories of his childhood and the journey that led him to become television’s greatest living news anchor.
[The memoir will] share personal anecdotes about the women in hid life, about his dog, Baxter, and his legendary news team. Along the way, he’ll also give sage advice on a variety of topics that matter most to him.
I don’t know if it’s the greatest autobiography ever written. I’m too close to the work. I will tell you this much: The first time I sat down and read this thing… I cried like a goddamn baby, and you can take that to the bank!”
Not much is known about the film: in this sequel directed by , the setting will apparently be changed from San Diego to New York and the decade will be the advent of the 1980s instead of 70s. Most of the cast from the first movie are set to return: Burgundy's now co-anchor and wife Veronica Cornerstone (), man-on-the-street Brian Fantana (), sportscaster 'Champ' Kind () and dim-witted weatherman Brick Tamlan (). Brick will find a love interest in . Also making cameo appearances are , , , , , and the band Green Day, among other notable personalities.
