Okay, I'll admit it: I've never watched SyFy's Continuum, but it's one of those shows that so many friends have been telling me to watch that it's on my short list of series to catch up with on Netflix.
But even though I've not yet seen it, it appears everyone else is a fan, so much so that SyFy has announced they've renewed the sci-fi police drama for a third season, according to Coming Soon. It will return to the network sometime in 2014 with another 13-episode limited run in its traditional 10 p.m. timeslot on Fridays.
If you're like me and a newbie to the show, here's the breakdown:
'Continuum' stars as Kiera Cameron, a cop from the future who finds herself trapped in the present day, swept along when a group of fanatical terrorists escaped their planned execution in 2077 by vaulting back in time.
The series co-stars as detective Carlos Fonnegra and , who plays teen tech genius Alec Sadler.
SyFy, known more for its cheesy, B-movie productions, has sometimes criminally-underrated original television series (I still maintain Eureka never got the attention it deserved), but it appears there is nothing underrated nor underappreciated about Continuum: It ranks as the #1 original cable drama for adults ages 18-49, adults ages 25-54, and total viewers. Not too shabby from the same station that brought us Sharknado.
Let me hear it: If you watch Continuum, what is it about the show that sets it apart? What compels you to watch? Drop a line below.
