You know how the Michael Bay-produced reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is apparently going to suck balls, cause fanboys to spontaneously combust and will (insert violent expletive here) our childhoods? Well the production held a set visit for members of the press last week, and while we won't get full reports for a few months, the early reaction was overwhelmingly positive.
Here're are some of the reactions via Twitter:
So I spent all day on the set of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES & apart from LOVING the new look, I can absolutely confirm it will be badass— ErikDavis (@ErikDavis) June 20, 2013
I have to be mega vague, but as a longtime fan of TMNT I was SO happy with what I saw. They're doing it right. Trust.— ErikDavis (@ErikDavis) June 20, 2013
Last week spent an hour trying to catch some TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES action outside my building. Today got to spend a whole day on set.— Perri Nemiroff (@PNemiroff) June 21, 2013
Those turtles are getting a serious upgrade.— Perri Nemiroff (@PNemiroff) June 21, 2013
Journalists on a set visit are probably more likely to be glowing with their praise than not and it's also difficult to judge a movie's quality based on seeing a couple of scenes, especially when so much CGI work is going to be done in post. That being said, is there a chance that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles won't be the big pile of steaming s#%t that everybody's predicting and your childhoods will in fact remain intact and unsullied?
