is set to receive another DC alum join the cast, along with Laura Vandervoot, Linda Carter, Helen Slater and Dean Cain, Teri Hatcher is the latest to join the list. Having played Lois Lane in the 1990's Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, she is set to portray a new character in Supergirl, this time as a villain. With so many potential options, here are five likely candidates that Teri could be set to portray.

5. Syrene

Syrene is a magic wielder and the daughter of Merlin himself. With the ability of time travel through her magic, she targets so she may use his invulnerable body to channel a powerful spell and unlock the power of the Runestones. With a clear plot present, Teri could be set to play Syrene, but this time she would be after Supergirl to use instead of her cousin. This would then give Guardian and Mon-El a chance to prove to Supergirl they are truly heroes. It would also establish how Kryptonians are weak against magic wielders.

4. Encantadora

Encantadora gains great power by the magical Mists of Ibella, which she wears around her neck in a vial. With it, she can manipulate the perceptions of people to such an extent that Superman once fell to the effects of fake Kryptonite, despite him knowing it wasn't real. With Krytonite playing a role for Cadmas in Season 2, it is possible Teri could be playing a character that is set to double-cross the secret organization. The character does also have additional magical abilities at her disposal, including teleportation and pheromone control.

3. Lady Lunar

Lady Lunar is the result of a accident resulting from exposure to energies that grant her the powers of hypnosis and gravity manipulation. With Supergirl being a powerhouse heroine, she requires strong foes to face. A villain who can literally increase the gravitational pressure on the heroine is a good place to look. Given that she was defeated in the comics by Superman and , using her in Supergirl could be a good alternate option. All they would need to do is alter her blond hair to brown for Teri to play her. With ethnicity changes and physical alterations so easily made to these characters, it shouldn't be to difficult for them to pull off.

2. Circe

Now, Circe would be a brave choice for the creators, as she is primarily a adversary. However, in both Supergirl and the , Wonder Woman and the Amazons have never been mentioned. If they want to begin exploring that avenue, perhaps Supergirl facing a Wonder Woman villain would be a way to open that door. She would be able to prove a match for the Girl of Steel and allow for the potential of Wonder Woman to appear in later series. Teri could also pull the character's look off and provide a strong portrayal of a proud villainess.

1. Zazzala

Better known as Queen Bee, Zazzala is an alien who is out to expand her empire. As her name would suggest, she is the queen of a colony that is constantly looking for new territory. As Supergirl has had a lot of focus on the alien aspects of the Zazzala would make a great option for Teri to portray. With the White Martians already posing an extraterrestrial threat, Queen Bee could be the one to show Supergirl and her Super Friends that their are plenty more heading for earth.

The Wild Card: Big Barda

Big Barda was the head of the honor guard for her lord Darkseid and was a member of his Female Furies. With Supergirl already using characters from Superman's comic books, Apokalips could be the next to arrive. We have already seen links to both Lex Luthor and Brainiac, so Darkseid is pretty much the final one to be linked to the show. As Big Barda is a character that eventually turns good, this option would leave the door open for Teri to return in future installments, but as an ally to Supergirl instead of a foe.
