What is it about snowbound research stations and murderous monsters? You'd think after The Thing, all research institutions would just abandon the idea of discovering the secrets of Antarctica. It's just not worth the risk.
Well, it looks like we're about to get reminded of the folly of snowy research in a new sci-fi thriller/horror from the executive producer of Battlestar Galactica, Ronald D. Moore. It's called Helix and we've just got the first teaser trailer. Check it out below:
OK, so it doesn't really show much, but don't worry we've got an official synopsis which explains everything. Kind of.
Helix is an intense thriller about a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control who travel to a high-tech research facility in the Arctic to investigate a possible disease outbreak, only to find themselves pulled into a terrifying life-and-death struggle that holds the key to mankind's salvation or total annihilation.
The show will air on Syfy, although it has yet to announce any cast members or a release date. That probably explains the generic trailer.
Does this look pretty promising, or like something we've seen before? Let me know in the comments section below.
