It feels like forever since Marvel's #Deadpool lit up the big screen with the craziest combination of superhero action and fart jokes. Early reports claim Deadpool 2 is going to start filming in May, and now Drew Goddard has been asked to consult on the script alongside the original writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, which was recently confirmed by Ryan Reynolds on Twitter:
OMG! Does this mean Colossus, everyone's favorite mutant goodie two-shoes, could be coming back as well? Let's hope so, because someone needs to wash Wade Wilson's dirty mouth out with a good smack in the jaw every once in awhile.
In addition to making the movie universe of the #Xmen a more wholesome place, Colossus had some pretty funny lines that helped balance the naughty and nice sides of the comedy in Deadpool.
The following are 5 of the best Colossus quotes from Deadpool that made us love the mutant strong man even more.
1. "I prefer not to hit a woman, so please..."
Unlike Deadpool, Colossus is always a gentleman. Even in the heat of battle. (Who could forget that great match-up between Colossus and Angel Dust?) Finally, we got to see the silver x-behemoth in action! At first it seemed like Colossus was about to get his metal ass handed to him because of that mega right hook from Angel Dust. Luckily, Deadpool had the smarts to bring Negasonic Teenage Warhead to help handle the situation. Well, after she was done tweeting.
2. "Language, please."
When lots of us are stressed out we turn into our own versions of the Merc with a Mouth and start spouting every dirty four-letter word in the dictionary. However, that's not how Colossus rolls, even if he's taking a punch straight into the jewels. This scene perfectly illustrates the sweeter side of his vocabulary, as well as Deadpool's own tendency to use more colorful words.
3. "Here, protein bar. Good for bones."
When getting ready to face the day (or Deadpool), Colossus is always there to make sure young mutants are maintaining a well-balanced diet. He's the perfect role model. Someone new students can look up to (literally), and sets a good example. Throughout the movie he acts if he's Negasonic Teenage Warhead's big brother and this quote highlighted his maternal nature and gave audiences a good laugh.
4. "House blowing up builds character."
When young mutants like Negasonic Teenage Warhead try to unleash their powers of sarcasm and question the benefits of being an X-man because they have questionable taste in costumes and their home is routinely destroyed, Colossus is ready to point out the important life lessons that can be learned from the biggest catastrophes in a superhero's life.
5. "Be A Hero"
Finally, I have to add Colossus' famous "How to be a hero" speech he gives to Deadpool just before Deadpool is about to shoot Ajax. This speech embodies what every great #Marvel superhero is about.
Four or five moments—that’s all it takes to be a hero. Everyone thinks it’s a full-time job. Wake up a hero. Brush your teeth a hero. Go to work a hero. Not true. Over a lifetime there are only four or five moments that really matter. Moments when you’re offered a choice to make a sacrifice, conquer a flaw, save a friend—spare an enemy. In these moments everything else falls away.
All great heroes come to a point in the road where they have to make a major decision. A decision that will take them from a superhero to true Hero. For #CaptainAmerica it was not signing his name to the Sokovia Accords in Captain America: Civil War. In The Avengers movie, Iron Man decided to sacrifice himself and fly into the whirling vortex full of aliens. #DoctorStrange let himself get killed over and over again by Dormammu just so he could save Earth. Each of these heroes are defined by those moments.
Just when you think Deadpool is about to make that type of choice, he decided that moment is not one of them, and he shot Ajax in the head. Maybe Colossus should stick with imparting his superhero wisdom to Negasonic instead.
