The CW has finally started promoting their 4 episode crossover event that kicks off with Supergirl on November 28th, and follow up with episodes of The Flash, Arrow, and #LegendsOfTomorrow. The crossover, entitled "Invasion!", will pit our favorite heroes against an alien foe, named The Dominators. In the latest promo spot, we caught a glimpse of the Deathstroke, who was the fan favorite big bad on season 2 of Arrow.

Watch the latest promo for the CW crossover event:

We knew #Deathstroke would make an appearance on Arrow's 100th episode, after Manu Bennett released pictures on Facebook of the character on set earlier this year. However, we didn't know that the show's centennial would take place during the crossover event. Because of Barry Allen's constant mangling of the timeline, we have no idea what Deathstroke's fate is post-Flashpoint. The biggest questions now are: What is Deathstoke's role in the crossover, and whose side will he be on? Given the character's dual nature, this might not be very easy to suss out.

In the image above, we see Deathstroke in full costume, just chilling with his sword surrounded by foliage. With not much to go on; what he's up to here is anyone's guess. When we last saw Slade Wilson (we are assuming it's him in the suit), he was tucked away on Lian Yu, in a super-max A.R.G.U.S. prison. In the last two seasons, Wilson has hardly been mentioned.

Wilson did pop out of his cell during season 3 — for some reason Thea and Oliver had to return to Lian Yu, and found him aimlessly roaming the island. However, thanks to our favorite speedster (and timeline wrecker) #TheFlash, we have no clue as to where Slade is, or if events have changed from past seasons. We've already seen the repercussions of Flashpoint on Arrow, as Diggle's child changed from Sara to John Jr. — but Flashpoint could have changed a lot more that we haven't seen yet.

Let's go under the assumption that nothing has changed in the timeline. Deathstroke was defeated, made human again (if you recall, he once had a super serum pumping through his veins) and placed on Lian Yu. Since he is in the 'Invasion!' promos in full costume, we can assume he either escaped, or was let out. With the all the chaos happening in the CW universe, the more likely answer is the latter.

Slade Wilson was driven mad by the Mirakuru serum which saved his life, but it stands to reason that after it's out of his system long enough, he will revert back to his old self. He was once Oliver's friend and fought for the greater good. He could go back to that on Arrow and help the team defeat the Dominators in the crossover, or he could be working for A.R.G.U.S. as a mercenary, which would make the most sense.

Check out the behind the scenes Entertainment Weekly shoot for the crossover:

The most likely scenario is, Deathstroke will join the fight to save the earth — but this is only due to him being a soldier of fortune. He will not go back to being a full villain, nor will he be a hero by any means. He will do what he does best: look out for number one, and go where the money is. This is the most logical path given who the character is in the comic books. In any case, it will be great to see him back on Arrow. He is a fan-favorite and represents the best season of the show, and he is the best villain the show has ever had. Be sure to check out the 4 episode event on the CW on November 28, kicking off with Supergirl at 8PM/ET.
