Finally, the architect of the Death Star (the Star Wars Imperial military battle station planet-destroying machine) has spoken out about his responsibility for its fundamental flaws in the form of a satirical letter.
The long running joke among sci-fi aficionado's (in a nutshell) is that the notoriously vulnerable and volatile thermal exhaust ports which required protection against energy weapons, were precariously positioned on the outside of the ships. They were of course easily located by Luke Skywalker and hence completely obliterated. To be fair, the architect who signs off as 'Dak Exhaustport' in the letter, does manage to throw light on some pretty valid design points.
