The hit 2006 movie starring #AnneHathaway and the world's most overrated 20-time Oscar nominee #MerylStreep is getting the #Broadway treatment. #TheDevilWearsPrada, based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Lauren Weisberger, is already in the works to become a musical. If you've got doubts about how well Miranda and Andy's story will translate to the stage, don't panic. Who are the creative geniuses at the helm of this the most fashionable musical Broadway's ever seen? Sir Elton John (The Lion King, Billy Elliot, Aida) and Paul Rudnick (Sister Act, The Addams Family Values, The Stepford Wives), of course.
Bob Cohen and Kevin McCollum of Fox Stage Productions said that John and Rudrick were the only possible choice for the project:
"To bring 'The Devil Wears Prada' to the stage, we knew we needed to find artists as inimitable as the characters in the story. We needed artists whose work has run the gamut, from music and publishing to drama and fashion. We could think of only two names: Elton John and Paul Rudnick... That's all!"

If you're already getting excited, you're not alone. Elton John can't wait either:
"Reimagining 'The Devil Wears Prada' for the musical theater is super exciting. I'm a huge fan of both the book and the feature film and a huge aficionado of the fashion world. I can't wait to sink my musical teeth into this hunk of popular culture."
Now that we know the score and the script are in good hands, we've still got a few big questions looming. Which leading ladies will take over the roles that Streep, Hathaway and Emily Blunt made famous? And — more importantly — who's going to do the costumes?!
