The Flash is one of those shows best known for bringing overlooked comic classics out of the dark and into the spotlight, as well as including fan favorites and iconic comic stars. The #DC Universe is full of underrated heroes and villains that just have not had their share of the limelight yet, but #TheFlash could most definitely change this around. I mean, Cobalt Blue and Wildcat — who wouldn't want to see those two onscreen?
Barry Allen has many foes and allies, but many have not yet made it to the show. Considering that the past three seasons haven't had tons of diversity in terms of their heroes, and main villains not being speedsters (minus all the meta humans), this still will be shortlisting a few of those who urgently need their debut on the show.
This crazy super villain of Kid Flash is one that we NEED to see in the near future. You may recognize her name from the animated series Teen Titans, where her look and story was slightly altered for kids' entertainment. Her classic origin story is that she is a sorceress originating from India who has a number of elemental abilities she hones in an east Indian temple along with four other acolytes. However, she misused her powers and killed her school teacher, so she was sent to the US to be imprisoned.
She was often associated with Wally West, and so perhaps we could see Wally have a friend from Keystone who comes looking for him in Central City. That would make such an interesting storyline to follow.
There aren't that many East Asian actors out there, but possible actors that could take up this persona include Priyanka Chopra. Have you seen her on Quantico? This chick sure can defend herself. A very talented actress indeed. Another suggestion includes Freida Pinto, who starred on One Tree Hill as a tough school girl, and really outdid herself — again, another beautiful and talented actress.
3. Elongated Man
Considering his debut was in a Flash comic, Randolph Dibny (Elongated Man) is definitely a must have for the show. When he was younger, he looked up to other body benders, and found out that they all got their powers by drinking a soda called Gingold. So, he chemically enhanced it, drank it, and gained his elasticity. Unlike Black Lightning and Jinx, Elongate Man is more often associated with Barry Allen. He actually thought Randolph was pretending to be a hero to steal valuable goods, but once this was cleared up, the two became very close friends. he also has links to other metahumans on the show like Firestorm, Vibe, Wally West and Gypsy.
The way Dibny has been portrayed in animated series highlights his goofy and outgoing character. It would only make complete sense to cast someone with similar sense of humor. A good example of who could pull this off is Jerry Trainor, who is famously known for playing a goofy older brother in Nickelodeon's iCarly. He's been quite M.I.A since then, so this could be the breakthrough he needs,
She's known as one of the most powerful females within the DC universe, and unfortunately, a very overlooked one. Zatanna, daughter of Golden Age magician John Zatara, is a VERY powerful sorceress who casts powerful spells by speaking backwards, and is also a stage performer. She is a current member of the JLA, and works alongside The Flash. During Infinite Crisis, he supported her in mind wiping Doctor Light. They've also had sparks fly between them, and briefly had an attraction towards each other.
The first person that came to mind as to who could embody such a character was Eiza Gonzalez, most famously known for her role as Santanico Pandemonium on From Dusk Till Dawn. If you have watched it, then you know she definitely can play the sly, slick side of Zatanna. She's also promoted a photo of herself for the show with an awfully strong resemblance to Zatanna's costume. Geoff Johns himself follows her on social media and has liked her Zatanna tweets. Nonetheless, maybe what we need is a sweet Mexican charm to portray the magical icon that is Zatanna.
If you thought Harley Quinn was crazy, Ragdoll may surprise you. He was originally associated with groups such as the Secret Six and the Injustice League. Peter Merkel, Jr possesses the power of contortion, which means he is very flexible. This power was obtained by the hundreds of surgeries he underwent. He's known to be the most demented and crazy member of the Secret Six, and is proud of it. Merkel even went to the extreme of attempting to kill former teammates Harley Quinn and Mad Hatter. He was taken down, however, by the team-up of Jay Garrick and Barry Allen.
Doug Jones comes to mind to play Ragdoll in The Flash. Many of his roles have been science fiction/horror/villain related, so who's to say he couldn't bring this devious character to life? If you have seen Hellboy then you know how fluid of an actor Jones is. He can move his body in weird ways, which is what we need to bring the quirky character of Ragdoll to life.
