is taking quite some time to reveal the true identity of the Big Bad of Season 3. Reverse Flash's identity was revealed to audiences as early as Episode 9 of the first season. The second season took a bit longer, but by the end of Episode 15 we knew who Zoom really was under that mask. The Flash has aired its 16th episode of Season 3, and there's still no hints of Savitar's identity. However, don't expect to see the reveal in the next episode (The Flash and musical crossover) or even the episode after that.

The reveal could be saved for Episode 19 of The Flash. Tom Cavanagh is directing that particular episode. Previously, I had speculated that the character that Tom Cavanagh is playing on the show this season, H.R. Wells, could end up dying in that episode. But if the name of the episode is any indication, we could see a lot more in that episode.

"The Once and Future Flash" is the title of Season 3, Episode 19 of The Flash. In Episode 15, Savitar said something, twice, which led to a lot of confusion among the fans of the show. The confusion was about whether Savitar said, "I'm the Future Flash" or "I'm the future, Flash." The name of this episode has done away with all those confusions. It also confirms that Savitar is indeed the future version of Barry Allen a.k.a. "Future Flash."

The title, "The Once and Future Flash" is interesting on so many different levels. It could also mean we will see Wally (Future Flash) in the classic red Flash costume going up against Barry or then Savitar (Once Flash) when Barry goes to the future.

On Saturday night, at PaleyFest, Andrew Kreisberg revealed,

“Episode 18 has Abra Kadabra, who is also a villain from the future. He knows who Savitar is and comes with a moral conundrum: Do Barry and the team let Abra Kadabra go in order to get Savitar’s identity? It’s a great mortality play. Iris and Barry have a great scene, ‘Can you be a hero if you do one bad thing?'”

Kreisberg also mentioned that Barry will travel to the future in Episode 19 to know more about Savitar.

“Barry decides that the only way he can find out what he needs to know is in the future.”

This means that Team Flash won't learn Savitar's identity until Episode 19. Ideally, the viewers of the show should learn about Savitar's identity after Barry visits the future. However, given the fact that The Flash goes on a two week hiatus after Episode 18, the audience might get a peek under Savitar's mask under at the end of that episode. And Barry being under that mask would make for an ideal two-week cliff-hanger.

Do you think that the future version of Barry Allen is Savitar? Or do you think it's someone else? Let us know in the comments section down below.
