They may power their car with their feet, but #TheFlintstones are pretty advanced when it comes to common sense about LGBT people. In Issue 4 of the recent addition to the DC Flintstones canon, Fred and Wilma bump into their gay buddies, Adam and Steve, and the comic continues to have a witty, mature discussion about the whole gay thing. Check it out.
Fred Flintstone has a brilliant comeback for anyone who questions what's "the point" of gay people if they don't breed:
"Let me be clear. I don’t do anything if Adam and Steve aren’t welcome...
I grew up in a tribe of hunter-gatherers. Life was a struggle. It wasn’t always possible for people to take care of their own kids.
The non-breeders gave our tribe extra hands to help with the children. Having them around often meant the difference between life and death."
