Adding to the vast catalogue of superhero TV shows we have right now, comes The Gifted, a new series from Fox from , set in the X-Men cinematic universe.

The story will deal with a family who are on the run from the government after discovering their children are mutants, which leads them to meet many more interesting characters form the larger X-world.

Earlier this month, show's producer, Lauren Shuler Donner, shared a picture of the entire cast together for their first table read. Now, it's time to get even more excited for the latest venture into the universe, because we have our very first look at it. Donner shared this picture through her Twitter:

The caption reads:

'The Gifted' night shooting. Bryan Singer directing, Amy Acker acting."

It's worth noting that we finally have an official title for the series. Previously, it was known simply as Gifted. Now, it's . It's ultimately a very minor change but even with that tiny addition of "the," it goes from sounding like a high school dramedy to a more serious drama, as is befitting FX's usually style. In any case, it's fun to see just how much crafting goes on for a show of this magnitude.

While there's not much to go on in terms of story elements from the picture, we are able to see , who will play Kate Stewart, mother of the main family and estranged wife to Stephen Moyer's Reed, sitting in a car at night. Judging from the worried look on her face, things are already going awry for the group. Don't worry for the lack of interesting details in this teaser though; with production underway, we should expect a whole lot more to come in the not-too-distant future.

Given Fox's successful if brief track record with the amazingly weird , hopefully this show will be another solid entry in the ever-expansive X-Men Universe. It's currently unknown when the new group of mutants will hit our screens, but given how everything is coming together for the project, we should expect them to arrive later this year.
