The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey fans can return to Bilbo Baggins' Hobbit hole in the comfort of their own home, from March 19th.
's first movie in the Hobbit trilogy, which went on general release in December, will appear on DVD and in three disc and four disk versions of high definition Blu-ray, both of which will include 130 minutes of behind the scenes material, according to The One Ring.
The announcement made no mention of an extended cut of the movie. Perhaps they're saving that for the trilogy box set, expected for release some time in early 2015. The only question which remains now is,are they going to release a version that is based on The Hobbit by author ?
Warner Brothers Home Entertainment, which announced the release date today, also offered media a special sneak peak of the second movie in the series, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, later in the month. Can't wait for that one!
An Unexpected Journey has now officially hit the $1 billion dollar mark, earning over $300 million domestically and $700 million overseas. This makes the movie one of fifteen movies that have reached the milestone joining Avatar, Titanic, Marvel's The Avengers and many more. Jackson's The Lord of The Rings: The Return of The King also holds the 6th spot on the list.
Good for them. The flick certainly wasn't the best, nor an accurate adaptation of the novel, but still highly enjoyable. I await The Desolation of Smaug with open arms. How about you?
