The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey really does seem like a tough beast to slay. As you'd expect, 's Lord of the Rings prequel stormed the DVD and Blu-ray home release charts when it first became available four weeks ago. However, it quickly dropped to third as Lincoln and The Bible joined the race.

Despite this, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has made a rather, well, unexpected comeback by once again topping Nielsen’s VideoScan First Alert chart, according to Home Media Magazine.

Usually, a title only enjoys a brief time at the top before it begins its inevitable downward slide into the bottom shelves. Sometimes titles may rise a single place over the course of their times in stores, but to jump three places and retake the top spot is rather unprecedented. I should know. I used to the poor guy who had to change the DVD chart in Walmart every Sunday. It took ages...
