If, like me, you can't wait to see The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug all over again, never fear, as the home entertainment release date has just been announced! We will all be able to return to Middle-earth as soon as April 8 2014, when the movie arrives on DVD, Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, Digital HD.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is the second part of Peter Jackson's epic adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkien’s fantasy novel. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will be the final chapter in the trilogy.

Bilbo Baggins () and co continue their Unexpected Journey to Lonely Mountain, where Bilbo must find the secret door that will lead them to the treasure of the dragon Smaug ().

If you want an exceptionally special version of the film, you can also get a Limited Collector's Edition Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, nicely packaged in a boxed set that includes two Gates of Erebor replica bookends from the Noble Collection.

Even though the boxed set looks awesome, I think I'll be sticking to the standard DVD until the third installment...what about the rest of you guys?
