The stories and characters of Star Wars have enthralled generations of fans, and made a successful comeback thanks to J.J. Abrams's The Force Awakens. The next installment, The Last Jedi, will continue Rey's saga and take us back to the war between the light and the dark sides of the Force. Fans can hardly contain their excitement — and director Rian Johnson is one of them.

Johnson, a lifelong fan of the franchise, didn't shy away from sharing his enthusiasm in the latest behind-the-scenes video, "Story." Check it out below:

Here's what Johnson had to say:

"Walking up the ramp, walking through the hallway, I flashback to when I was a kid and they had the action-figures inside [the Millenium Falcon]. And suddenly I've a big lump in my throat. Now, it gets ya."

Being a fan, it's a relief to see someone as dedicated as Johnson helming one of the most important movies of the franchise. However, the director's nostalgic walk through the sets might've revealed some possible spoilers for the movie.

Although the teaser maintains The Last Jedi's secretive marketing by repeating scenes that fans have already seen, it also features brief glimpses that hint at where our favorite characters will be heading. So, let's break it down and see what we can salvage.

Poe Dameron And Rey Meet Up Once Again

Despite featuring in The Force Awakens, Poe and Rey didn't have any significant scenes together. Although it looks like The Last Jedi will be looking to change that dynamic between these characters, the circumstances they'll meet in might not bode well for Rey. As her wardrobe is the same one we see when Snoke is torturing Rey, it's possible that she'll be at the Rebel base where Kylo Ren attacks (and almost kills Leia); thereby leading to another kidnap. As some theories also suggest that Poe might be supportive of the dark side, there's a narrow possibility that this meeting will be followed by Poe surrendering Rey to Snoke.

Is The Mysterious DJ Helping Out Finn And Rose?

The Last Jedi will be introducing three new characters: Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran), Vice-Admiral Amilyn Holdo (Laura Dern) and the uber-mysterious DJ (Benicio del Toro). While Rose and Holdo's character arcs have been hinted upon, DJ's role in the saga had been confined to fan theories until this recent clip which shows him working with Finn. Although Rose's presence alongside Finn is understandable, the reason why DJ is accompanying them is a mystery. However, it's good to know that he's in support of whatever the noble Finn is up to.

While the Star Wars movies are all about the Jedi and the Sith, supporting characters like R2-D2, C-3PO and Chewie also play a prominent part in it ... well, until their friends leave them all alone on an isolated planet for an indefinite period of time in order to become a Jedi.

As R2-D2 had experienced this situation by following Luke to Dagobah, it wasn't wise of the robot to embark on a similar mission with Rey. Additionally, as R2 never warned Chewie about the consequences of accompanying a future Jedi, it looks like the Wookie and the droid will be facing the most boring phase of life and befriending Porgs.

Rey Inside Snoke's Throne Room

All of the trailers and teasers that have graced the internet has suggested that even though Supreme Leader Snoke looks like a frail old man, it will be wise to stay the hell away from the mysterious Force-wielding antagonist. However, as Rey has taken upon herself to become a Jedi and bring an end to Snoke's First Order, she'll be going against this advice and visiting Snoke's base.

As Snoke will try to seduce her to the dark side, it's evident that she'll not only have to survive his Force-floating abilities, but also face the menacing Elite Praetorian Guards who are visible at the right-hand side of the picture.

First Look At The Fathiers In Motion

While the previous image of Finn infiltrating the First Order base proves a long-running rumor regarding the rebellious Stormtrooper's mission, this animatronic horse-looking creature confirms the other half of it. According to a Reddit leak (possible spoilers follow), it was suggested that after Leia survives an assassination attempt, she sends Finn and Rose to Canto Bight to find her would-be killer. As this infiltration goes wrong, the duo eventually escapes on these gigantic animals known as Fathiers. Additionally, as this section also involves Finn and Rose meeting a "stable boy," it's possible that this is where we'll meet the fabled DJ for the first time.

Poe Engages In Action At Crait

Ever since the reign of the Galactic Empire, Crait has been a reliable Rebel base that was previously manned by Bail Organa (Leia's stepfather). Although it was later handed over to Trusk Berinato for mining purposes, the modern Resistance's attacks on the First Order has turned it into a functional command post. However, as both the trailers have suggested that the First Order has compromised this Rebel base, it looks like Poe will be driving a ski speeder into battle and subsequently skidding his way into a trench. We hope he makes it out alive to fight another day.

Although this two-minute-long snippet doesn't provide any blatant plot details, the promise of Finn returning to his origins or a Battle of Hoth-esque sequence at Crait is enough to get our Lightsabers swinging. In addition to that, as a hardcore Star Wars fan like Rian Johnson is directing The Last Jedi, fans can be sure that he'll uphold the legacy of the franchise and give us the ultimate Christmas present.
