Ever since the nerve-wracking cliffhanger in The Force Awakens, we've been scrambling to get any piece, as small as it may be, of information regarding The Last Jedi. And now, after almost two years of anticipation, we finally have our first look at the movie.

Rian Johnson, Kathleen Kennedy, Daisy Ridley, Jon Boyega and Mark Hamill took the stage at Star Wars Celebration today for The Last Jedi panel. There, after a slew of cool announcements and details, the director finally unveiled the very first poster for the movie. And it's...well, incredible. Take a look:

That. Is. Amazing. As with anything Star Wars, there is a hidden metaphor behind the imagery. As Rey's lightsaber extends, it goes from blue to red right at the point it splits Luke and Kylo Ren's faces, signifying the struggle in the former Ben Solo and also Rey's own self-doubt.

But that's not all we get out of it...

Classic Throwbacks

For any diehard Star Wars fans out there, Rey's pose will be very reminiscent to A New Hope's first poster, which showed Luke raising both arms, lightsaber in hand and a beam that travelled across both sides of the image:

...that's a very nice throwback.
