Despite Justice League failing to draw audiences, it seems that Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be saving the year, closing out 2017 with a $200 Million opening weekend.

Lucasfilm's latest offering comes to theaters December 15th and as Variety reports, it'll be opening with quite a bang. According to the site, the film is currently on track for a $200million+ opening, which would give the film the biggest opening weekend of the year, surpassing Disney's Beauty And The Beast which had a solid $178 million opening earlier this year.

While this projection for The Last Jedi isn't the best a Star Wars film has had (that title goes to The Force Awakens' insane $248 million opening), chances are that the sequel could open with more than $200 million with ease.

A while back, BoxOffice.com predicted a cool $215 million opening weekend for The Last Jedi. And while only time will tell which website came closer to the truth, both websites agree on one thing: will have one hell of an opening weekend.

If does end up raking in more than 200 million dollars in its debut weekend, it'll become the second best opening for a Star Wars film ever, ahead of $155 million opening of Rogue One. Such a glorious opening will also place the movie fourth in the highest opening weekend for movies ever, behind The Force Awakens, Jurassic World and The Avengers.

If the film really does end up performing this well, it'll provide a last boost to what was a poor box office year, and in that case, may the Force be with The Last Jedi.
