F. Scott Fitzgerald's unfinished final novel The Last Tycoon is getting a small-screen adaption over at HBO. Based on real-life film moguls Irving Thalberg and Louis B. Mayer, The Last Tycoon is a tale of passion, ambition and power, which follows the exploits of wunderkind a brilliant Hollywood executive Monroe Stahr. The series will chart his rise to the top and the battles he had with his former mentor, and current studio head, Pat Brady.

Captain Phillips scribe has penned the script and Party Of Five co-creator Chris Keyser will act as showrunner.

This is not the first time that The Last Tycoon has been adapted, as it was made into a movie in 1976 and featured as Stahr.

I wonder who HBO has in mind to play the lead this time round?

Who would you cast as Stahr in The Last Tycoon?
