Those of you who hit fast forward through The Defenders today may have punished yourselves by missing out on what's arguably the best Marvel Netflix show to date. Saying that though, such a despicable act will also be rewarded, granting you with your very first look at a teaser trailer for the The Punisher TV series.

For a glimpse into Frank Castle's past, including the tragic murder of his family, check out the atmospheric promo in full below:

"The past is more than memories; It’s the devil you sold your soul to. He’s coming. He’s coming to collect...”

The teaser promises more of the violence that the first poster for The Punisher already hinted at, but unfortunately doesn't provide us with a look at the rest of the supporting cast, including the likes of Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Amber Rose Revah. However, given that Hannibal show runner Steve Lightfoot is at the helm here, fans shouldn't have too much to worry about.

Actor Jon Bernthal has already given us a taste of what to expect from The Punisher's first season thanks to his comic book faithful performance in Daredevil Season 2. Joining him in in his quest for ultra-violent justice is alumni Deborah Ann Woll, whose portrayal of Karen Page has been remarkably sympathetic to Castle's crusade up until now.
