's The Raid was most of the most exhilarating action movies I've seen in the last 10 years. It was a thrilling, balls-to-the-wall and brutal experience and in lead actor, , we witnessed the arrival of a new martial-arts star. Evans's is currently in post production on the sequel, The Raid 2: Berendal, and the British director debuted some footage from the movie at Frightfest. Unfortunately we don't actually have the clip, but we do have a Twitch eyewitness account of what went down, which is nowhere near as cool as watching it yourself, but is the best we can offer.

The clip featured the fantastically named Hammer Girl and it sounds awesome:

The clip we saw is from an action scene on a moving subway car: Hammer Girl against a bunch of guys in suits. The clip was only a few minutes long, but it was enough to see that not only have Evans and his crew maintained the freshness and brilliance of the first film, finding new and inventive ways to present action and martial arts, but they've gone above and beyond by exploring new spaces and (obviously) new characters.

The Raid 2 begins two hours after the story in the original ended, but according to Evans the narrative will span four years. If the rest of the movie is as kick-ass as the clip shown at Frightfest, The Raid 2 is going to be the action-movie event of 2014.
