Like many fanboys and critics, I raised an eyebrow (or two) when I first heard the news. But after wrestling with the reality of donning the Batsuit for a few days (more like a few weeks), I finally came to a point where I was sort of okay with Benjamin taking over the Dark Knight role, kind of.
It starts with the fact that in the comics Batman was, and is, a pretty well-built dude, I'm talking 6'2" and 210 lbs. of pure muscle, badassery, and unadulterated awesomeness.

Now get this, Ben Affleck is about 6'3 and is well over 200 lbs, and based on some recent photos I've seen of him, has added some serious Batman muscle to his already above average frame. Moreover, Bruce Wayne has black hair and blue eyes in the comics, Ben has black (or really dark brown) hair and..I forget what colour eyes, but he can wear contacts.

In addition, Bruce Wayne is considered and described as "classically handsome" in the comics. I suppose Ben fits that archetype for the most part.
The only thing that I leave to question is whether or not Ben can nail the Batman voice, especially since his natural voice tends to crack quite a bit. Other than the voice thing, I think Ben is a talented enough actor that he can lose himself in the role and do it justice.

I wonder, though, if is available to do voiceovers? Oh well, a guy can dream, can't he?
