Now, when news first broke that Dwayne Johnson had signed on to play in the , many fans were a little confused. After all, with Johnson being one of the few truly bankable stars left in Hollywood, why would he want to play a relatively obscure villain, as opposed to, say, Black Adam's long-standing nemesis, ? Well, Johnson's true reasoning may always remain a mystery, but while we wait to see him beat the snot out of whoever is eventually cast as Billy Batson's comic book alter ego in the finished movie, we can at least now try to work out what a distinctly DC-affiliated Rock is cooking. And, from the looks of it, it might just be a fight with Superman.

Yup, that's right:

The Rock Seems Fairly Sure That Black Adam Will Beat Up Superman In The DCEU

After all, not only did Johnson recently post the above -heavy image to Instagram (along with highly leading captions like "DangerousGentlemen," "DCWorldsWillCollide" and "BlackSavagery") but he also just so happened to follow it up by sharing a certain Boss Logic-produced image on Twitter:

An image that, of course, shows Henry Cavill's having been rather thoroughly beaten by a Johnson-played Black Adam.

Now, of course, it's entirely possible that all of this simply illustrates that The Rock is kind of a nerd, who really likes the idea of fighting Superman in a movie, and isn't afraid to share that sentiment on social media. After all, that's probably how any of us would react if we were cast in the DCEU, too. It's not, however, entirely beyond the realm of possibility that Johnson could have been promised a fight with Superman as part of his contract negotiations. Which would, when you think about it, make The Rock's decision to join the DCEU as Black Adam make all the more sense.

After all, if you can't play Superman, isn't playing a guy capable of beating the snot out of him pretty much the next best thing?

What do you think, though? Do you think we'll see The Rock kick the crap out of Superman in the DCEU? Let us know below!
