For fans of MTV's 'The Shannara Chronicles', it seems as though we've been waiting a lifetime for Season 2. It's been a hell of a long time since Amberle ventured into the Ellcrys Tree, sacrificing herself to save everyone, and with Eretria and Will separated and the re-emergence of magic growing larger by the second, Season 2 has a lot of ground to cover.

When we last saw , Will and Eretria found themselves shaken by Amberle's sacrifice. As Season 2 picks up one year after Season 1, we now find these two separated.

Check out the Season 2 trailer below:

After Season 1's tumultuous events, Will has turned his back on magic, dedicating his life once again to being a healer, putting the mystery of the Elf Stones and his abilities completely behind him. Sporting a slightly new look, Will finds himself once again in trouble, as he is hunted by a mysterious organization known as "The Crimson".

With the re-emergence of magic in the Four Lands, and the whole word in chaos, The Crimson have been hunting down magic users. Though Will has chosen to neglect his destiny, it doesn't take away his abilities, and unfortunately puts him in the path of this fearsome group.

Luckily for him, he finds that he's not completely alone. Not unlike his meeting with Eretria in Season 1, he finds himself once again saved by a woman, Mareth, played by The Vampire Diaries' Malese Jow - forcing him to get back into the fight, and re-awaken his abilities.

In addition to Mareth, Season 2 will feature a host of new characters including Lyria (above), a new love interest for Eretria following Amberle's sacrifice, and her untimely separation from Will.

Also joining the cast will be Gentry White, Caroline Chikezie and Desmond Chiam who will respectively play a skilled fighter known as Garet, Queen Tamlin (Queen of the only human kingdom in the Four Lands) and General Riga, the Elven leader of The Crimson.

Season 2 looks set to be bigger and better than ever, and with so many of our favorite shows coming to an end, let's hope shows like Shannara last a lifetime.
