The Walking Dead gang have moved around a little, but the majority of our main characters started their journey in Atlanta, Georgia. The new promo for the show — which returns to AMC in February — is not only a heart-thumping battle cry for our heroes, but it's also a big shout-out to their origins.

The key art for the show uses the same stark white, red and black color scheme — spot on for the design of Robert Kirkman's original comics — and also features the two words that flash up at the end of the promo: RISE UP.
Sasha, Daryl, Tara, Carol, Jesus, Rosita, Michonne, Rick, Carl, Maggie, Gabriel, Morgan and Aaron are set against the words RISE UP, which is no ordinary morale-boosting slogan.
Fans of NFL team the Atlanta Falcons shout "Rise Up!" to cheer their team on, including a memorable support campaign starring Samuel L. Jackson:
Maybe the RISE UP art for #TheWalkingDead is just a bit of symbolism about how Rick and his gang have come full circle, or a tribute to the effort of the cast, crew and fans who've been with the show from the start? Or, does it indicate that the team will end up back in Atlanta at some point?
