The latest episode of The Walking Dead delivered some pretty big moments, many of which left the internet in a state of shock. The current season of the post-apocalytic drama has been building towards the all out war between team Rick and team Negan, and this Sunday's episode saw the Alexandrians, the people of the Hilltop and the folks of the Kingdom team up and take on the Saviors. Our protagonists mostly succeeded but unfortunately we lost one of our heroes along the way.

Eric Raleigh was caught in the crossfire during last week's episode of , and this Sunday's instalment saw Eric's boyfriend Aaron try to get him to safety before it was too late. In a moment that broke our hearts, Eric pleaded with Aaron to return to the fight.

Aaron eventually listened and gave his boyfriend a kiss before heading back to the war. When Aaron returned to get Eric, he discovered that his Eric had become a walker. Talk about hitting us right in the feels AMC. However, while some fans were emotionally distraught over Eric's death, it appears that many viewers were delighted at the prospect of having Eric off the show.

Now that Eric is out of the picture, many Walking Dead fans are convinced that Aaron will get together with Jesus. Moments after watching the demise of Eric, excited fans took to Twitter to express their sheer excitement at the thought of Aaron and Jesus being a couple and, as you'd expect, the result is hilarious.

To be fair, it's entirely possible that Jesus and Aaron will get it on because the long-haired warrior is the only other gay guy currently on the show and, let's be honest, options are limited in the zombie apocalypse. Twitter clearly thinks they'll get together. Check out some of the best tweets below:

I'm not going to lie, I also think Jesus and Aaron would make a pretty good couple. As much as we loved Eric, he was a little bit like a piece of background furniture, and only really popped up when Aaron was onscreen. Jesus, on the other hand, has become one of the show's biggest characters and his unique fighting abilities make him an essential part of the group going forward.

Additionally, in The Walking Dead comic books, Jesus and Aaron are currently an item, so it's looking more and more likely that this pairing will translate to screen. I mean, who wouldn't want to date Jesus? He's kind, handsome and without a doubt the purest human being left in this post-apocalyptic world. Not to mention he has awesome hair. I don't know about you, but I'm definitely shipping Jaaron.

The Walking Dead airs Sunday 9/8c on AMC.
