The days of simply sitting on the sofa and watching your favorite TV show without any other distractions look to be over with more and more fans engaging in new, interactive mediums to enhance the viewing experience. Hitting up social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook are growing in popularity and now AMC is jumping on the bandwagon with Story Sync, an interactive app and web experience that allows you delve deeper into a show.

Story Sync was a big success during last Sunday's mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead, where fans were able to make predictions on who would score the most zombie kills (I voted Rick and lost), vote in polls and get the lowdown on the different weapons the characters used to dispatch the undead.

Essentially it's a way for Walking Dead fans to experience the zombie drama and interact with other fans without actually having to meet them in person. It's a beautiful thing.
